Solar Tube Installation in Bellefonte, PA

Solar Tube Installation in Bellefonte, PA

Solar tube installation in Bellefonte, PA puts daylight into rooms where a full skylight will not fit. A solar tube, also called a tubular skylight, is a small dome on the roof connected to a mirror-lined tube that runs through the attic to a round diffuser in the ceiling. Common sizes are 10 inch and 14 inch.

They work well in hallways, walk-in closets, laundry rooms and interior bathrooms. Because the tube fits between rafters and ceiling joists, there is no framing to cut and no light shaft to drywall. Most solar tube installations take a few hours.

Bellefonte, PA Skylight Repair picks a spot on the roof with the best sun exposure, cuts a round hole, and sets the flashing base under the upslope shingles. The rigid tube is best, because flexible tubes lose a lot of light at each bend. We seal every joint in the tube with foil tape so attic dust and moisture stay out, then fit the ceiling diffuser.

Solar tubes can also leak if the flashing base was installed on top of the shingles instead of under them. We repair those too. Call (833) 548-0266 to book a solar tube installation or a solar tube leak check.
